Alfanar's Emergency Lebanon Appeal was recently featured in a Thomson Reuters Foundation article exploring how social enterprises in Lebanon are stepping up to support emergency relief and reconstruction efforts in the wake of the devastating August 4th explosion at the Port of Beirut.

Alfanar Lebanon Country Director Michelle Mouracade spoke to Reuters to explain the unique challenges now facing Lebanon, particularly for the vulnerable communities worst-affected by coronavirus and the country's ongoing economic crisis, as well as how the social entrepreneurs Alfanar backs are stepping in to help transform crisis into opportunity.

Our Emergency Lebanon Appeal aims to raise $500,000 (£380,000) to provide emergency relief for thousands of vulnerable people who have had their homes and livelihoods destroyed. Funds raised are focused on hunger relief, debris clean-up and reconstruction and direct support to our portfolio social enterprises.
