Sara Lobo

Sara Lobo is Alfanar's Communications Manager, where she leads the organisation's strategic communications, brand positioning, external engagement materials and digital content creation, including communications for events and regional convenings. She brings over eight years of experience spanning strategic communications, fundraising and advocacy across international development, human rights and climate justice. Prior to joining Alfanar, Sara built and led the communications and development functions at international human rights organisation ICAAD, developing strategies to raise the organisation's profile, mobilise resources and advance advocacy on gender-based violence, access to justice, and climate justice. Previously, at ClientEarth, she led media engagement and developed press strategies to secure high-profile international coverage of environmental litigation and climate policy. She began her career in agency at Portland Communications, advising public-sector clients on strategic communications and public affairs. Sara holds an MSc in Politics of Conflict, Rights and Justice from SOAS University of London and a BA in Political Science from Vassar College.
