“WITH TABSHOURA MY STUDENTS ARE RESILIENT INDIVIDUALS, WHO HOLD THE KEY TO A BETTER WORLD."

As a descendant of the Armenian Genocide, Haigo identifies as a determined, resilient, and irrepressible human being. A childhood filled with unconditional support and perseverance, constantly reminded Haigo that her dream of becoming a teacher could and would be accomplished.

Now a passionate educator of 13 years, Haigo’s teaching philosophy focuses on cultivating student resilience. For Haigo, it's more than just teaching physics or chemistry, it's about taking scientific concepts and adapting them to real-life scenarios. Haigo hopes to empower her students to feel worthy and capable of overcoming any obstacles they face.

However, in spite of her love for teaching, the economic crisis ravaging Lebanon forced Haigo to search for a second source of income, as her teaching salary was not enough to sustain herself. One day she came across Lebanese Alternative Learning's (LAL) website and was immediately enwrapped by their community-orientated approach.

Today, Haigo helps enhance LAL’s Tabshoura platform, by providing feedback and development support on content creation. Additionally, she uses the Tabshoura platform in her classes, providing free, enjoyable and engaging courses to her students.

Haigo envisions a Lebanon in which students are instilled with the notion of being fearless, educated individuals.
