Egypt: Applications Now Open for Alfanar's Environment & Employment Seed Cycle! ARE YOU AN AMBITIOUS SOCIAL ENTERPRISE IN EGYPT WORKING TO ENHANCE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR VULNERABLE YOUTH AND WOMEN OR MITIGATE THE IMPACTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE, ESPECIALLY ON DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES? Funding Partner: Alfanar has launched its Environment and Employment SEED Cycle in Egypt and is currently accepting applications. Alfanar invites ambitious social enterprises across Egypt actively engaged in combating environmental challenges affecting disadvantaged communities and/or creating dignified employment opportunities for youth or women to apply. Five social enterprises will be selected to take part in a 6-month high-engagement management support and customised training programme designed to help them scale their impact, strengthen their operations and grow their financial sustainability. The programme provides participating social enterprises with funding, training, management support, and mentorship from passionate and engaged experts in the social enterprise space. Selected social enterprises that successfully complete the SEED cycle will be eligible to receive a 200,000 EGP financial award. A select number of social enterprises from the SEED cycle may be invited to continue working with Alfanar on developing a social business plan. This business plan would be assessed by Alfanar’s management team and considered by Alfanar’s Investment Committee for Alfanar's three-year SUSTAIN support package of strategic funding, management support and data analytics. Application deadline: 16 August 2023 Eligibility criteria: We are looking for changemakers that are driven by impact and aspire to grow beyond their current settings. We want to work with social enterprises that are ambitious, creative and innovative but that also fulfil the below: Operating a registered social enterprise delivering measurable employment opportunities to youth and women and/or environmental impact benefiting vulnerable communities, ideally for at least two years Running or growing a self-generated revenue model that aims to achieve financial sustainability beyond grants and donations Headed by a backable chief executive and strong management team Aspiring to scale impact beyond current reach Open and interested in receiving transformative technical assistance and management support Registered under the Egyptian law; individuals are not eligible If your social enterprise is ready and excited to engage in a transformative growth process and meets the eligibility criteria, please fill in the following application form and email it to ap[email protected] before COB in Egypt on 16 August 2023.
