Alfanar is currently accepting applications for its inaugural Egypt - Education Social Enterprise SEED Cycle.

We invite ambitious social enterprises in Egypt working to improve education for students from disadvantaged communities to apply. Five social enterprises will be selected to take part in a 6-month high-engagement management support and customised training programme designed to help them scale their impact, strengthen their operations and grow their financial sustainability.

The programme provides participating social enterprises with funding, training, management support, and mentorship from passionate and engaged experts in the social enterprise and education spaces. Upon completion, successful participants will receive a 100,000 EGP financial award. A select group will move on to receive business planning and become eligible for Alfanar's three year long-term investment package of strategic funding, management support and data analytics.

Eligibility criteria:

Operating an education social enterprise implementing innovative, effective education improvement strategies benefiting children in vulnerable communities for a minimum of two years

Running or growing a self-generated revenue model that aims to achieve financial sustainability beyond grants and donations
Headed by a backable chief executive and strong management team
Aspiring to scale impact beyond current reach
Open and interested in receiving transformative technical assistance and management support
Registered under the Egyptian law; individuals are not eligible
