Hopes tackles systemic challenges in Gaza Camp, a Palestinian refugee community in Jerash, Jordan. The community faces high poverty (52.7% below the poverty line), limited education (only 13.2% pursue higher education), and gender disparities (24% female labour participation). Hopes addresses these issues through integrated education and economic empowerment programmes. The organisation provides scholarships, vocational training, and early childhood education, including Hopes Kindergarten and Library, to help break cycles of underemployment. It places a strong emphasis on women’s inclusion through entrepreneurship training, the Arabic eTutoring Project (offering remote work opportunities), and T-Talk (an English and cultural exchange programme). Initiatives such as Ghosn Youth Space equip young people with job-ready skills, while psychosocial support and the PhotoVoice Project address gender-based violence and trauma.
