L’Artisan du Liban

Founded in 1979 by the non-profit Mouvement Social, L’Artisan du Liban is Lebanon’s first social enterprise dedicated to preserving traditional crafts and supporting local artisans. Collaborating with over 1,000 artisans—primarily women in rural areas—the enterprise produces a diverse range of handmade products, including homeware, textiles and jewellery. By blending traditional techniques with contemporary design, L’Artisan du Liban ensures the survival of endangered crafts while providing sustainable livelihoods for its artisans.

Achievements

Alfanar provided catalytic funding and strategic guidance to L’Artisan du Liban to enhance its business model and expand its market reach.
