Lebanese Alternative Learning (LAL) is an ed-tech social enterprise seeking to give every child access to free, quality education using online digital programmes and offline access solutions. LAL has digitised the Lebanese primarily curriculum in Arabic, English and French through their Tabshoura e-learning platform, and pioneered the LALMoudaress platform as a library of resources by educators, for educators.
Since 2020, Alfanar has worked closely with LAL to strengthen their business model and refine their financial strategy, ensuring long-term sustainability in the face of Lebanon’s evolving challenges. As part of this journey, Alfanar organized a study mission to Egypt in which LAL’s team built key connections within the ed-tech space, exploring opportunities for collaboration and knowledge-sharing. Alfanar also provided coaching and consulting to help LAL strengthen their financial sustainability arm ConsultEd Solutions, equipping them with tools and strategies to scale their impact. Through these efforts, LAL has grown its reach, empowered more educators, and provided accessible free digital learning to over 65,000 underserved children across Lebanon.
