In December, Alfanar hosted its 2024 Leading the Change Gala—an evening to reflect on two decades of partnership, impact, and the power of locally-led solutions across the Arab world.

Held in London, the Gala brought together a remarkable community of supporters, philanthropists, and social innovators dedicated to building a more inclusive and resilient region. Together, we raised £1.1 million to support Alfanar’s ongoing work—fueling social enterprises that are delivering results in education, livelihoods, climate, and heritage.

We were honoured to be joined by Dr. Mohammed A. El-Erian, Hala Gorani, Mo Amer, and Khalid Abdalla—whose presence and voices helped shine a light on what is possible when bold ideas meet long-term support.

The evening also featured stories from the frontline—social entrepreneurs across the region who are proving that when given the right tools, local solutions can scale sustainably and drive systemic change.
