This, combined with surrounding social factors and norms, creates major barriers to their ability to get a job and become economically productive. The Organisation ShareQ provides vocational training opportunities to disenfranchised women and youth in Lebanon and helps to place them in steady employment across several sectors, with a focus on blue-collar jobs. ShareQ's social catering line, M Social Catering, uses an impact model called 'learn and earn', and has already won numerous awards. Trained by a certified chef, women learn key skills including food safety, preparation and presentation, as well as the soft skills that will fully equip them for professional catering jobs. M Social Catering then aims to find job placements for the women who have graduated from the training. In addition to employing underprivileged women through M Social Catering, ShareQ multiplies its social impact through Proabled, a vocational training programme and job integration platform that connects employers in Lebanon to jobseekers with social, financial and physical challenges. What has been Achieved with Alfanar's Support Alfanar has supported with the expansion of ShareQ's revenue-generating catering unit, M Social Catering, and has helped to increase its operational efficiency and improve its financial sustainability - for example, by maximising profits from catering events and with the launch of innovative food product Hum n' Go. Alfanar also supported the launch and expansion of Proabled, Shareq's job integration platform and training programme for individuals facing social, financial and physical challenges. When I began training with M Social Catering, I didn’t believe that the success stories they talked about could actually happen to me. Today, since my training with M Social Catering, I have a full time job at a hospital, I have reintegrated my children into school and I am able to cover my rent. Jeanette, ShareQ trainee Alfanar's Investment: Looking Ahead By 2020, ShareQ aims to integrate 250 trainees into full-time jobs through Proabled's training programme. Alfanar will also support ShareQ to scale M Social Catering to become a main partner for major event planning companies in Lebanon and to export Hum 'n Go to markets in the GCC and Europe. They will also create stronger linkages with employers and provide some trainees with transitional employment on a freelance basis within their catering line. As ShareQ prepares to exit the Alfanar programme, Alfanar’s team will continue to work with them to ensure that it is able to maintain sustainability during the ongoing economic crisis in Lebanon.
