In October, Alfanar’s Egypt team travelled to Minya to provide technical support for our social enterprise Future Eve Foundation and the Amal Project, as well as to monitor the impact of our investment on widows and their wider communities.

The Amal Project: Building Sustainable Futures for Widows

The Amal Project provides vocational training, financial literacy, and microloans to enable widows and female breadwinners to support themselves and their families. Through the Amal Project, Future Eve Foundation is ensuring that women can not only sustain themselves but also contribute to Egypt’s broader social and economic landscape.

Strengthening Impact Measurement for Greater Reach

During the visit, Alfanar Impact Officer Heba Samy led a training session with the Future Eve team on impact modeling and measurement — key tools for amplifying social change. The goal was to help Future Eve quantify their impact meaningfully in order to demonstrate their value to stakeholders, make data-driven decisions, and continually enhance their approach.

Data Manager Saudi Mostafa conducted a comprehensive audit of the Amal Project's data systems, followed by a session on data analytics to help the team improve system performance and tackle specific operational challenges.

It was a collaborative effort with a clear message: monitoring and evaluation isn’t just a process — it’s a foundation for success.

Looking Forward: A Path to Scaling Sustainability

Alfanar will continue to support the Amal Project with ongoing technical assistance, training, and joint efforts to unify reporting systems and showcase impact achievements. This will enable Future Eve to reach a greater number of widows and strengthen their business practices.

We believe that by investing in local social enterprises like the Future Eve Foundation, we can drive long-term change. The Amal Project exemplifies this vision, and with continued collaboration, we’re excited to see it empower thousands more widows across Egypt.
