Following a year of service, Safia Tmiri has stepped down as Executive Director. We extend our thanks to Safia for her leadership and the important role she has played in strengthening Alfanar, and we wish her every success in the future.

Building on this foundation, Alfanar’s leadership will now be guided by Nicolas Kröger (Director of Operations) and Suha Abdul Rahim (Director of Jordan and Palestine), who will serve as Co-Directors in this next phase. Both leaders bring deep institutional knowledge and established stakeholder relationships that position Alfanar for continued impact.

We are also pleased to announce the appointment of Linda El-Omari as Director of Partnerships, reflecting our commitment to expanding philanthropic and institutional funding partnerships.

Over the past year, our focus on scaling sustainable, locally led enterprises has delivered measurable results. Three highlights include:

  1. In Jordan and Lebanon, we have supported more than 30 early-stage enterprises, with four enterprises successfully graduating to our long-term funding portfolio.
  2. Expanding climate solutions through a strategic grantee partnership that is enabling hundreds of women farmers to adopt sustainable agriculture practices, directly addressing food security while advancing gender equity.
  3. In Palestine, we launched an ed-tech initiative in collaboration with consortium partners to provide essential support to children whose education is disrupted.

With a strong leadership team and a clear roadmap, Alfanar is well positioned to drive the next phase of growth in building the region’s impact economy – with your continued partnership at the center of our efforts.
