Mapping the Impact Economy: A Regional Survey of Social Enterprises
Across the Arab region, social enterprises are creating solutions to some of the most urgent challenges — from education and climate resilience to healthcare, livelihoods, and circular economies.
Yet despite their critical role, there is still limited data about who they are, what they need, and where support can go further.
That is why Alfanar has launched a new Social Enterprise Survey, available to fill out in Arabic and English. The survey will inform Alfanar’s upcoming State of Social Enterprise Report, offering a regional snapshot of the impact economy from the perspective of those building it on the ground.
Whether you are just getting started or scaling your work, your voice matters.
Why take part?
By completing the survey, you will help:
“Social enterprises are closest to the problems they are trying to solve — and that makes their insights indispensable. This survey is about listening, learning, and using data to strengthen the ecosystem from the inside out.” — Mohammed Al Radi, Alfanar Impact Manager
The findings will be used to guide programme design, identify investment gaps, and inform donors, philanthropists, and policymakers about where catalytic capital and support can have the greatest effect.
Who should complete the survey?
The survey is intended for social enterprises operating in the Arab region that aim to achieve both financial sustainability and measurable social or environmental impact.
It is open to enterprises across all sectors — including but not limited to education, climate, health, creative industries, and employment creation. You do not have to be a current or alumni Alfanar enterprise to participate — we want to hear from everyone across the ecosystem.
