We back ambitious organisations and leaders who improve the lives of people living in poverty in the Arab world, particularly those working to economically empower women and improve children’s education. 

At Alfanar, we look for social enterprises that share our values and meet the following criteria:

• Improving the lives of disadvantaged children, youth and women;
• Ambitious and entrepreneurial in spirit and drive;
• Working to impact more lives over time;
• Working to increase financial sustainability through sale of goods and services;
• Have a backable CEO and a strong management team;
• Looking for and open to management support, organisational strengthening and capacity-building to grow;
• Addressing at least one of these UN Sustainable Development Goals: 4, 8, 10 or 12.

Successful applicants can expect to receive up to £500,000 in investment over a 4 year period, in addition to extensive management support and training.
