Portfolio Alumni Alfanar has invested in 185 social enterprises in Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine since 2004. Our venture philanthropy support has helped these organisations evolve from donor-funded NGOs into sustainable, revenue-generating social enterprises with multiple income streams and increased social impact. Since 2015, 52% of our portfolio has achieved sustainable growth or reached financial break-even. On average, we have driven an average 37% increase in social impact and 34% rise in self-generated revenue. Our financial contributions have enabled social enterprises to generate revenue that is more than double the value of our initial philanthropic investment.
